The Manchester Convention Bureau recently joined forces with MeetEngland on a recent US East Coast trade mission. The focus was highlighting England's first-rate meeting facilities, strong business sectors and thriving business events industry. Manchester was joined by London, Liverpool, Bristol & Bath, Devon & South West England on this mission.
Commencing in New York and New Jersey, the mission included visits to event planners’ offices and an evening event in Manhattan for corporate, incentive, and association buyers. It then moved to the Capitol region for more sales calls before concluding with a mixer event in Washington D.C.
Manchester’s presentations focussed on the city-region’s key sector alignments with the East Coast of the US, notably the booming digital, technology and creative scene. Alongside strong financial and professional services sectors, Manchester also discussed its ever-growing event programme ideas to inspire future bookings and partnerships.
In total, the team engaged with over 40 business event agencies, corporate event planners and international associations, generating promising opportunities to attract events to Manchester in the future.
